I recently received a review of my book A.R.I.S.E. that moved me
“This book is about finding stability in your own pace, even when everything else falls apart.”
That’s exactly what I hoped the book would do—be a lifeline, not a lecture.
But then the reviewer quoted a line from the book:
“Losing her job felt like losing her distinctiveness.”
That was my truth in the darkest moment of my life.
But what moved me most?
This reader felt it, because he had lived it too:
“That point strongly resonated with me because I went through something similar after being laid off in 2020. I had built my life around a job that vanished overnight, and like the author, I didn't just lose income; I lost my sense of purpose.”
He went on to say:
“Reading her reflections on isolation, pride, and praying through silence reminded me I wasn’t alone. This book gave me more than just comfort—it showed me how to move forward without bitterness, with quiet strength.”
That—right there—is the moment sustainable branding begins: when you’re no longer building from fear, ego, or hustle but from truth. 📖 Get your book now at your select store on My Website
Why This Matters for Personal and Business Branding
Unrealistic performance, secrecy about failure, and an excessive association with external roles are the foundations of far too many personal and corporate brands.
However, true sustainability starts with alignment:
✨ When your title is taken away, who are you?
✨ Which values hold up over time?
✨ Which truth are you prepared to use as the foundation?
I assist both people and companies with the following tasks:
To brand purposefully
To internally identify.
To build with integrity.
Exercise: Truth Mapping for Sustainable Branding
Take 10 minutes. Write without editing.
1. What identity did I cling to that eventually cracked? (E.g., “I was the successful entrepreneur/manager/expert/provider.”)
2. When that identity broke, what truths surfaced? (E.g., “I feared I had no value without achievement.”)
3. What values did I rediscover in the aftermath? (E.g., “Resilience. Resourcefulness. Purpose.”)
4. How can I build a life or business rooted in those values now? (Outline 2–3 branding or life choices aligned with your truth.)
✅ Quick Brand Sustainability Checklist
Honestly, ask yourself:
Is my brand founded on a reality I've experienced rather than merely a fad I'm following?
If I share elements of my life that others are scared to utter aloud, am I inviting inclusion?
Can my brand survive changes in my identification or my personal life?
Does my definition of success encompass more than just visibility?
Am I making space for others to rise sustainably, not just quickly?
